The Challenger 605 is Bombardier’s direct successor to the Challenger 604. The jet has a very loyal following thanks to its reliability. In fact, 290 aircraft were manufactured between 2006 and 2016.
With two General Electric CF34-3B engines each providing 8,729 pounds of thrust, the 605 operates with a lower weight and longer ranges than previous Challengers. The 605 can reach an altitude of 37,000 feet in just 22 minutes, allowing it to quickly achieve its cruising speed.
With ranges over 4,000 nautical miles, the Challenger 605 can perform a flight between any two cities in the continental United States without stopping to refuel. The jet can also fly for eight hours without stopping, easily crossing over oceans. And with a takeoff distance of 5,840 feet and landing distance of 2,775 feet, the 605 can operate at a wide variety of airports throughout the world.
Passengers will enjoy the cabin’s large windows and efficient design, which has also been improved upon from previous Challenger models. The cabin is also fully equipped with an entertainment system and fold-out tables for a relaxing experience. The large cabin also allows passengers to move around with ease. Additionally, the 605 boasts a much quieter cabin than other jets in its class.
The operating costs of the 605 are comparable to those of smaller jets, but the aircraft still delivers a reliable and safe experience. While it’s not the fastest jet on the market, its long range and comfortability are outstanding.
